The man looked up from the weathered, tattered diary he was diligently recording his latest findings in, the fire had burned low and offered scant comfort on the cold winters night. An oppressive, mantle of thick fog had rolled in off the coast and so Grahz and his guide decided it would be best to stop for the night and start afresh in the morning. Grahz studied his companion, a tall, slender young hunter who had promised hidden ruins, containing knowledge lost for eons, her name, Gaiana.

Grahz was lost in thought, angered that the expedition was to be cut short. He had received a call from home, from Rohan, with still so much to learn. There was to be a mustering of the armies, every able bodied man was to be called up and as a Captain of the people of Rohan he was expected to take a lead roll in shaping the farmers and freemen in to a coherent unit.

Gaiana

Gaiana was tending the fire, trying to breath some life into it, in an effort to drive back the surrounding darkness, nothing good could be abound this night as the clouds cut the visibility down to mere yards and the fire provided a sense of safety in a small island of light. Suddenly she froze and tilted her head to one side, as if listening to the sounds of the night, if there was a change Grahz couldn't detect it, but had learned to trust his companions instincts. He slowly stood and made ready his sword, laying his diary carefully aside. After a slow few minuets he began to relax, maybe this time Gaiana had been wrong. He turned and bent to retrieve his diary from the damp of the ground, when he saw a hint of movement in the corner of his vision. He spun to face the apparition and came on guard, he heard the creak of Gaiana's bow being drawn at his side.

The intruder moved with a fluidity, grace and silence bordering on the preternatural, even while wearing, finely crafted and immaculate heavy scale and chain armour. The stranger approached with arms held out showing he was unarmed and meant no harm, even though the weapons at his side looked well used and deadly. He came to stand before them and slowly removed his helm revealing finely chiseled features and up-swept lobe-less ears. At this Grahz and Gaiana relaxed, this was not some supernatural entity, to move with such stealth, but an elf. “Greetings Grahz” said the elven warrior “put up your weapons, i will do you no harm” he said in a smooth almost singsong voice that put the two travelers at ease. “It does my heart peace to see other good folk abound this night, but why would an elf be wandering so far from home on a night like this?” asked Grahz with a questioning look. “I was sent as a messenger for all the free peoples, searching for allies and aid” said the elf “My name is Garadain, would you be Grahz of Rohan?” Grahz nodded this was correct and the elf continued “Pack your things then, for there is much to be done, Rohan will prevail without you for a time, but shadows rise in these lands and your wisdom and strength will serve us all, as will your bow Gaiana”
 Garadain

Grahz picked up his diary and his pack and signaled for Gaiana to follow. As they left the the clearing and the comfort of the fire Grahz asked their new elven companion “how did you know my name, and where to find me?” Garadain turned “in time my friend, much will be revealed” was all he said.

Ok enough cheese, Grahz was my first Chararcter, now a lvl 60 captain, almost fully finished, just the radiance shoulders and helm to get, he is a SM scholar and is hard as nails, trust me, he is.

My second character was Garadain, now a lvl 60 Champion, he is a SM jeweler and still needs some work, though he is a match for most champs out there.

My latest character is Gaiana, now a  lvl 60 Hunter, working on woodworking, just needs some good trait grinding doing.

And now the man behind the avatar, be warned before you scroll down, it's not pretty ;)

Smoke then and think of him! For he was a gentle heart and a great king and kept his oaths; and he rose out of the shadows to a last fair morning. Though your service to him was breif, it should be a memory glad and honourable to the end of your days.
